We may be sleeping at night, but our immune system isn’t.
Most of us have heard by now that 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night is optimal for adults. But why is sleep so important? Some effects of lack of sleep are obvious: we feel tired the next day; it is harder for us to concentrate at work; we are cranky or impatient. Something must be going on behind our closed eyes, and relaxed body that we aren’t controlling.
